GENERAL PROGRAM OVERVIEW
1. In 2021, the LYL program, will be organized and ran by the Liberty Community Lacrosse Club. (LCLC) The board members will be responsible for the oversight of the feeder program.
2. The LYL program will hold 2-3 practices during the week and games/scrimmages on Saturdays beginning in March and ending in May. The occurrence and structure of practices and games are dependent on the OHA guidelines that are in place at that time.
a. If Lacrosse cleared to participate in full contact scrimmages then we will move forward with scheduling games.
b. If Lacrosse restrictions continue, then we will move forward with modified practices and follow best practices as outline by OHA.
3. LYL practices will be at the 53rd Avenue turf fields or Liberty High School 2-3 days per week, M-F.
· There will be a 15-30 minute buffer between sessions to disinfect equipment and clean high touch areas.
· Physical distancing protocols will be in place at all times. Masks will be required by all players, coaches, and volunteers on the field.
· Screening of COVID symptoms of all players and coaches will be done daily before each practice. LYL will retain those screening documents until no longer needed.
· Once allowed per OHA guidelines, games/scrimmages will be on weeknights and/or Saturdays with times and locations to be determined as the schedule allows.
• Games or scrimmages are dependent on the approval of the OHA and on the current county COVID guidelines. Participants from outside the tri-county area are not allowed the use of the HPR facilities.
• In the event that games or scrimmage activities are not allowed due to COVID restrictions, the teams may participate in modified games such as scoring and passing contests, relay races, etc., or be replaced with an additional practice.
a. During games/scrimmage activities, the number of players on the field will be reduced to ensure proper spacing and physical contact is minimized. Team sizes will be determined by current OHA guidelines.
b. High fives and fist bumps between players will not permitted.
5. Participants will pre-register for the Youth Lacrosse program. They will be assigned a coach and placed on teams according to COVID guidelines.
a. Capacity will be based upon the designated limits of each facility and venue while not exceeding the maximum allowed allotment set forth by state health officials.
i. There will be a max of 40 players on each field that will be divided into small groups to allow for physical distancing. There will be no more than a max total of 10 coaches, refs and volunteers. Proper physical distancing protocols will be enforced throughout the duration of all activities.
b. Only registered participants will be permitted on the facilities. No spectators
6. Coaches will be volunteers. LYL will ensure that all coaches are properly trained and follow safety protocols. (Coaches will complete the NFHS concussion and NFHS Covid-19 Course)
a. If games are allowed, paid high school players will be the referees and supervised by the coaches. (referees will be certified through the youth lacrosse officials association)
b. If only scrimmages are allowed, coaches or youth officials will act as officials.
7. Cleaning: All facilities and equipment will be cleaned according to a standardized sanitization procedure and schedule.
a. LYL will clean goals, high touch areas, and other equipment per the OHA guidelines after each of their sessions.
8. Port-a-potties and restrooms will be available on HP&R fields.
a. HP&R asks that only one person use a restroom at a time to allow for proper physical distancing.
9. Participants will be asked to use hand sanitizer prior to starting activities each day.
a. Hillsboro Parks & Recreation will provide port-o-potties and hand washing stations at 53rd ave.
b. LYL will ask each player, coach, ref and volunteer to provide their own personal hand sanitizer, bring it to every session and use it before and after the session.
10. Coaches and/or volunteers will be tasked with enforcing all safety protocols, physical distancing reminders, and to clean equipment/high touch areas between sessions.
EQUIPMENT/ATTIRE
1. All players, coaches, refs and volunteers must wear face coverings over the nose and mouth at all times in the facility and during program activities as outlined by the OHA.
2. Participants will be asked to provide their own water bottle as there will not be access to drinking fountains.
3. LYL may provide all participants with a shirt/jersey.
a. Participants will provide their own shorts and turf appropriate shoes. No street or metal cleats are allowed.
4. Players will provide their own stick and any other additional equipment that is required (helmets, pads, gloves, cup, mouth guard, etc) if COVID guidelines allow.
5. If goalies are not allowed per COVID guidelines, the program will utilize smaller goals and/or targets that stretch across the goals rather than have goalies during the drills, games, and potential scrimmage activities.
a. If goalies are allowed, it is the coaches responsibility to disinfect the goalie equipment before and after every use.
b. Use of ‘shared’ goalie equipment should be limited to the use of one or two players.
c. If a player has their own goalie equipment, it will not be shared at all and should be disinfected by the player before and after each use.
6. In the event that players will not need full gear and protective equipment, the program will follow US Lacrosse’s recommendation to use a softer, rubber based ball to ensure player safety.
7. LYL may have limited equipment available to borrow upon request.
a. Borrowed equipment is used by a player for the full season, then they must return it to our program at the end of the session. Borrowed equipment will be fully sanitized before being loaned out again.
ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE REQUIREMENTS
1. Participants will be asked to arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to their sessions and stay no more than 15 minutes after.
a. To ensure the safety of all participants, players will be asked to vacate the premises upon completion of their activities. Standing around and congregating will be prohibited.
2. LYL is required to pre-screen all players, coaches, refs, and volunteers. LYL will send information regarding pre-screening prior to opening day for parents/legal guardians’ to complete.
a. LYL will conduct ongoing screens of all participants, including coaches. They will be asked the standard screening questions for symptoms such as fever, cough, chills, shortness of breath, and recent travel upon arrival of each activity.
b. LYL will keep record of all pre-screening documentation, including daily logs per the OHA requirements.
3. Players should refrain from sharing rides/carpooling to and from practices and games/scrimmages.
a. If ride sharing cannot be avoided, everyone in the vehicle should wear a mask for the entirety of the ride both to and from practices and games.

ENTRY/ EXIT FIELD MAP
1. Enter the field via 53rd Avenue on the South side near the businesses. Drop off your player next to the Center Access Point and continue around the car park to exit. Please do not park and wait here. If you wish to Park, please leave the South Parking Lot and head to the North Parking Lot.
2. Please remind your player that once they are on the field they need to walk directly to their field and place all gear on their designated spot. Players should not gather in small groups and they should avoid all physical contact with other players.
3. When leaving the field, players should stay six feet apart and exit the field at the designated exit on the North End of the field. If a player must wait, please do so while staying six feet away from other players.
4. When picking up your player please do so at the designated exit only. Pick up your child and drive away as quickly as you can do so safely.
ENTRY/ EXIT FIELD MAP
1. Enter the field via NE Century Blvd in Gate B. Drop off your player next to the Main Gate and continue around the car park to exit. Please do not park and wait here. If you wish to Park, please leave the Drop Off Zone and park away from the entrance.
2. Please remind your player that once they are on the field they need to walk directly to their field and place all gear on their designated spot. Players should not gather in small groups and they should avoid all physical contact with other players.
3. When leaving the field, players should stay six feet apart and exit the field at the designated exit on the South West Side of the field by Hops Garden. If a player must wait, please do so while staying six feet away from other players.
4. When picking up your player please do so at the designated exit only/collection point. Pick up your child and drive away as quickly as you can do so safely
ENTRY/ EXIT FIELD MAP
Evergreen Middle School
1. Enter the school grounds off of Evergreen Rd and follow the directional arrows to the back (SW) parking lot. Drop your player off in front of the parking lot and continue around behind the building and back towards the Evergreen Road entrance/exit. Do not park or wait.
2. Players must go directly to the field and place their gear in the designated spot. Players should not gather in small groups, have their masks on and must stay 6 feet apart.
3. Players should exit the field on the NE side by the basketball courts and wait for their rides South of the tennis courts. Players will maintain social distancing while waiting and continue wearing their masks.
4. When picking up your players, enter the school grounds off of Evergreen Rd and follow the directional arrows to the basketball courts. Pick up your player and exit the school grounds by heading North past the tennis courts.
5. Players should NOT be picked up in the drop off area or the parking lot next to it. If you must park at all for drop off or pick up you must use the parking lot at the north side of the building
Liberty High School
1. Enter the East Staff Parking Lot via NE Wagon Drive. Drop off your player next to the Gated Entrance and
continue around the car park to exit. Please do not park and wait here. If you wish to Park, please leave the
Drop Off Zone and park away from the entrance.
2. Please remind your player that once they are on the field they need to walk directly to their field and place
all gear on their designated spot. Players should not gather in small groups and they should avoid all physical
contact with other players.
3. When leaving the field, players should stay six feet apart and exit the field at the designated exit on the
South West Side of the field by Hops Garden. If a player must wait, please do so while staying six feet away
from other players.
